Sue's first solo show at Patch Gallery, Colchester in January 2026 was a celebration of the value, joy and potential of materials. Zingy orange and red netting popped against the white walls emitting a call to action in reframing the value of 'waste' materials. Crafted from fruit and vegetable net bags collected by the artist's own community, Sue had to relinquish control in creating this ambitious month-long installation choosing only to work with the netting she was given and not adding any holes to the gallery wall! The result was an uplifting and dynamic celebration of the beauty of waste and reminder of the micro plastic catastrophe. Humble wrapped onions anchored the pieces, reminding viewers of their connection to the problem.
