Invisible Embrace

Exhibited as part of the VAO 25 Finalist Exhibition at the Minster Building, London, Invisible Embrace features a large, bejewelled egg-like sculpture, once ‘broken’, but now ‘repaired’. A tentacle-like exoskeleton seems to reach out to a small, embellished egg, separated, yet invisibly connected. Made from recycled fabric, yarn and beads, this diptych incorporates embellishing, dry felting, free-motion embroidery, wire wrapping and beading. Invisible Embrace speaks of our fundamental human need for connection and nurture.
