Gutted
Date
7th August 2026 - Feb 2027
In this post-apocalyptic fish shop, exhibited in the Museum of the Environment in Ipswich, the impacts of our extractive culture are laid bare, with underage fish caught in nets, more micro plastics than fish in the ocean, and growths and mutations a consequence of rising sea temperatures, loss of ecosystems and pollution.
Using recycled textiles, wool, thread and beads; ceramics; bioplastics; natural treasures; recycled polystyrene storage boxes; and a broken dumped trolly, Gutted playfully invites thinking about the health of our water systems, the importance of fish as an indicator of climate change and the consequences of plastics pollution, fuelling us to do our bit to save the planet.
