Creating Sue’s own natural pigments is an affirming, free and expressive adventure. She loves how these root her work within the environment and the immediacy of being able to paint and mark-make with sustainability at its core. It starts with hunting for the right stones and hammering then mullering these to a powder. Sue then plays with mark-making and composition, enjoying the textual qualities and alchemy unfold.
