Puddle Life and Forest Bathing

Exhibited as part of Ground exhibition at The Benham Gallery, Cuckoo Farm Studios, Puddle Life and Forest Bathing are abstract paintings created from Sue’s own natural pigments. An affirming, free and expressive adventure of searching for the perfect stone and transforming this into non-toxic paint, the narrative between Sue's art and the environment has never been stronger. These expressive pieces root Sue's work within the environment and the immediacy of being able to paint and mark-make with sustainability at its core. It starts with hunting for the right stones and hammering then mullering these to a powder. Sue then plays with mark-making and composition, enjoying the textual qualities and alchemy unfold.
